Did you know that over half of lost pets are never
reunited with their owners? A collar and tag are a good precaution but sadly
all too easily lost. A microchip is tiny, about the size of a grain of rice,
and is injected under the skin at the back of the animal's neck. This is
safe, quick and causes no discomfort. The microchip can be implanted at any
age and during a routine consultation. When a scanner is brushed over the
coat, it picks up the chip's unique identity number which is recorded in a
national register. Now that animals need to have a microchip for the Pet
Passport Scheme, it is very likely that if your pet is lost, he will be taken
to someone who has a scanner, whether it is the police station, animal
warden, veterinary surgery or animal welfare organisation. This means that
having your pet microchipped is a better protection than ever before. The
usual cost of having your pet microchipped is £25 which includes lifetime
registration on a central computer. We are now able to offer a special price
of only £17.50 if you have your pet microchipped at the same time as a
vaccination-a massive 30% Discount! PLUS: You can now get two months free
insurance through PETPLAN for microchipped animals-please ask us for more
details. |
